This program is developed in the city of Cajamarca, a place with a lot of history and cultural value. During the conquest, this was the scene of the capture of Inca Atahualpa and his eventual execution. In Cajamarca, it is possible to find beautiful buildings dating from the colony time. The last vestige of the Inca Empire which still remains in Cajamarca is the famous Cuarto del Rescate (Ransom Room).

I came to Cajamarca as a Peace Corps volunteer, and my Spanish teacher from La Casa del Frances had a lot of experience teaching international students. They had specific lessons on the grammatical questions I had, both written and verbal lessons for comprehension, and were able to let me converse and use the language as well. My teacher was also a translator for English to Spanish, which meant she was able to answer my questions on specific translations as well.
Der Spanischkurs in dem Sprachzentrum "Casa del Francés" hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Die Lehrerin, Miss Shirley, ist auf unser Sprachniveau eingegangen und hat uns mit viel Mühe dabei geholfen unser Spanisch zu verbessern. Wir konnten schon vor dem Kurs ein bisschen Spanisch, weshalb die Kommunikation größtenteils auf Spanisch stattfand, zur Not in die englische Sprache zu wechseln war aber kein Problem. Nicht nur im Klassenraum haben wir Unterricht gemacht. Miss Shirley hat uns auf eine Tour durch die Stadt mitgenommen, um uns dort die wichtigsten Punkte zu zeigen. Außerdem konnten wir an einem Tag unsere eigene Kultur einbringen, indem wir Kartoffelsalat gemacht haben und Schwarzwälderkirschtorte gebacken haben
Ich habe aus dem Sprachunterricht in "La Casa del Frances" schon viel mitnehmen können. Das Personal ist sympathisch und die Arbeitsatmosphäre in den Kleingruppen ist sehr angenehm. Für Fragen und Anmerkungen besteht immer ein offenes Ohr und es findet eine gute individuelle Förderung statt. Fazit: ich bin mit der Qualität des Unterrichts sehr zufrieden
